Morgan Hill Weather News: Saturday 3/29/2008 4:55pm

A big thank you to Eric at Livelook.com for giving our webcam a special mention in his
blog today. Livelook.com is a very slick webcam index site using Google maps as the
primary navigation tool.

We had another local area power outage this morning so site updates and webcam
access were disabled for around 3 hours starting from 9:25am .

Friday 3/28/2008 2:25pm

Fixed some problems with the new webcam control in browsers other than Internet
Explorer. Now tested with the following on Windows Vista:

    Safari 3.1 (525.13)
    Firefox v2.0.0.13
    Internet Explorer 7.0.6000.16609

Another new and significant feature is available for BETA testing today.

Our
See it! Click It! Move It! interactive webcam control. Just hover your mouse over
our webcam image and you will see arrow markers appear around the edges, with
+/- in the center. The arrows show directions of potential movement if clicked. The +/-
symbols will zoom the camera in or out respectively.

One cool test: try clicking repeatedly on a building or geographic feature of interest
and watch the camera "hunt" towards it.  You don't have to click exactly on the
arrows. Left of center goes left, right of center goes right, etc.

Have fun... but be gentle with it! No duelling cam movements please or I might have
to limit access!!

While we are talking about the camera, here's a pretty shot from earlier this week:

Here's a fascinating blast from the past. A Morgan Hill promotional video dating back
to 1938. Amazing what you can find on YouTube !

You can even find
Morgan Hill Weather time-lapse videos there too...

Power was out from around 8am until 10am this morning due to a blown transformer
and/or line down at Dunne and Magnolia. All weather data updates and web cam
access were down. Service has now been resumed.

Because I think it is so good, I am giving a second mention to hd-sf.com . Their view
of San Francisco over the bay from
Sausalito is just spectacular. The time-lapse videos
are fascinating. Try watching the
last 24 hours after a weekend and catch all the
sailboats scudding about the bay. If you have a large display, or even a PC hooked
up to an HD flat panel TV... try the larger HD resolution images (e.g.
1080) and
videos. I think you will be impressed whether or not you are a fan of San Francisco.
Let's face it, who's not a fan of that view of the city? Their
Best of HD-SF says it all!

cameras section of our
