Site updates were not happening today from late morning until early evening. This
was probably due to a Yahoo hosting issue. Many apologies if you visited and found
old weather data and/or no webcam image.

Here comes the rain... again :

Last night's sunset...

Here comes the rain...

Saturday 3/17/2007 8:15am

One of those rare mornings when an ocean of fog covers the valley floor but we can
still see clear skies over and above. Always a treat!

Have you been wondering about "Alhambra Castle" Morgan Hill, the new facility
planned to house the
American Institute of Mathematics (AIM) ?

Well, if you have... I came across this great
3D video rendering of the new building.
Check it out. Remember, "
...your best buys are always at Fry's" ;)

Friday 3/16/2007 4:00pm

Just noticed a high of 84°F measured by our weather station and a very balmy 96°F
under the eaves which shade our deck from the sun and shelter it from the wind.
Phew! Hottest day this year I think.

Morgan Hill weather goes global !! Thanks to a new webcam listing at EarthCam . The
world map below shows the location of the last 100 visitors to our
webcam page, as

So to everyone from the UK, Poland, Turkey, Japan, Brazil, Chile, Germany, Canada,
Spain, Austria, Israel, Finland and beyond... welcome and enjoy!

Phew! Forecast today for Morgan Hill is a high  in the mid-80's !! We didn't quite hit
80°F yesterday, at least up here on the hill but it sure felt hot in the
Home Depot
parking lot. My chariot claimed the outside temperature was 86°F at around 4pm. I
can believe it.

Highs in the mid-seventies for the rest of this week and no rain in the forecast until
next Tuesday or Wednesday. Only in California !

The Trends,  Quakes, Radar and Webcam pages have been changed to enable their
respective images to auto-refresh without the whole page refreshing. Similarly, the
header on every page will also auto-refresh to show the latest temperature.

These changes should allow you to leave a particular page open in your browser and
have the data be current whenever you glance at it throughout the day (for example).

The
Nowcast page still does a full page reload.

The default frequency for updates and auto-refreshes is 5 minutes, except for the
webcam image which refreshes every minute.

Friday 3/9/2007 10:35am

It's still a little chilly this morning but all the forecasts are pointing to a very warm
spring weekend. I predict that we will get close to 80°F here in Morgan Hill.

Don't forget to move your clocks forwards 1 hour on Saturday night / Sunday morning.
Daylight saving starts early this year!

Tuesday 3/6/2007 10:00am

Due to a local Charter Communications network outage, this site was not getting any
updates from around noon yesterday until now. Many apologies if you visited and
found old data.

Thursday 3/1/2007 11:00am

Yesterday's snow photos were featured here on KTVU Channel 2's web site.

A new lens has been added to the
weather camera. Hopefully this will provide some
better quality
webcam images. Here are a few samples while I was still experimenting
with last night's sunset:
