Morgan Hill Weather News: Wednesday 1/20/2010 4:30pm

At the tail-end of  three storm systems in this wild week of weather, we were treated to a
"tornado warning" from the
National Weather Service. Even called out the City of Morgan
Hill. We don't see one of those every day and I hope we never see one again!

The warning covered 2pm to 2:30pm this afternoon and there were multiple storm cells
passing right over us at that time. A few lightning strikes and rumbles of thunder but no
tornado reported.

Here's the text from the NWS warning:

Last month saw the birth of our new sister site www.portfever.com . Using many of the
same techniques as
MorganHillweather.com, Port Fever archives the Mortgage Mobile Inlet
Cam at Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Port Everglades is an extremely busy port and beyond freight, tanker and leisure boat
traffic, it is arguably
the major cruise ship port in North America. The MortgageMobile.com
webcam has a fabulous view from adjacent to the port inlet and includes ship movements
within the port and at sea. The cruise terminal for the newly launched and largest
passenger vessel afloat,
Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas is also fully covered.

In just over a month of experimental exposure, Port Fever has had over 7,700 visitors
from 2,600 cities in over 100 countries. During the month of December, Port Fever was
selected as a
Top 10 Webcam site by the leading webcam index Earthcam.com .

Many thanks are due to Lou Gnandt, the owner of
MortgageMobile.com for allowing us to
archive images from his wonderful location. Enjoy!

Back here in Morgan Hill, the new year has brought us relatively calm weather with foggy
mornings and sunny afternoons. A little surprise rain crept through today but nothing to
cause a stir. Same can be said for yesterday's
M4.1 earthquake which caused noticeable
shaking further north but nothing much at our location. Today's
M3.7 aftershock was
similarly uneventful.

Most of our recent updates have been happening on Facebook so please check in there
and become a fan of the
Morgan Hill Weather page! You can also find a link and activity
summary on our
webcam page.

Happy New Year!!!
