| Morgan Hill Weather News: Saturday 1/31/2009 10:30am Photographs of this morning's valley fog... Sunday 1/25/2009 5:00pm A short but dramatic hail storm just hit us up here on the hill... ...and earlier, sheets of rain washed across the valley : Sunday 1/25/2009 12:20pm Not every day can be a sunny day in California! As we saw yesterday.... Monday 1/19/2009 12:15pm If you like our ever changing views across the valley, you might like this collection of photos from the webcam at Lick Observatory. Selected and hosted on Flickr by Miguel Vieira and titled "A month on Mount Hamilton, November 2006". Sunday 1/18/2009 2:00pm What a fabulous weather-week for January! Temperatures at or around 70F on every day and through this weekend. So much sun and I nearly forgot to download the camera. What did I find? This shot of that extremely bright moon taken on Wednesday around 7:15am. The brightness was toned down a little to bring out more of the surface detail... Wednesday 1/14/2009 12:25pm If you had not noticed, there is a completely new photo gallery which has replaced the old slide.com slide show. This new gallery is completely hosted by Morgan Hill Weather and includes a more comprehensive and current set of our photographs including a webcam snapshot collection. To highlight the gallery, the banner image at the top of each page now includes an automatically generated random selection of our photos. Enjoy! Monday 1/5/2009 5:30pm The Theater page now has an interactive calendar that enables you to browse our complete archive of webcam images going back to November 2007. Just click on a date to view thumbnail images from throughout that day. Click on a thumbnail to view a one hour time-lapse sequence starting from that point. Click on the arrows on the top row of the calendar to move backwards and forwards in time, one month at a time. Not every day has an archive, especially in the earlier months and some months are missing. Dates with archives appear in green. The original intent was to delete all images for days that didn't have a sequence of obvious interest but that strategy is no longer employed. Now anyone can browse the archive and find sequences that might interest them. Enjoy! Friday 1/2/2009 3:00pm Today I have introduced player controls to both the Webcam and Theater pages for use while viewing time-lapse sequences. The controls become visible once the sequence has been selected e.g. 1hr Time-lapse on the Webcam page. For example: For this level of control, all of the images have to be downloaded first. A progress bar will tell you how that's going. You can start the player before the download completes and even remove the progress bar by just clicking on it. However, the player might stall if you haven't gotten an image by the time the player reaches it. Serious broadband download speeds recommended! I have briefly tested with IE 7.0, Firefox 3.0.5 and Safari 3.2.1 . In the process, found and fixed a bug with the Theater page not working at all in Safari! Oops!! Thursday 1/1/2009 8:30am To start the new year, here are two spectacular photos of yesterday's fog taken by Mark Bristol looking west from high up on East Dunne as it approaches Henry Coe Park. |
